Facet syndrome is a syndrome in which the facet joints (synovial diarthroses) cause painful symptoms. [1] In conjunction with degenerative disc disease , a distinct but functionally related condition, facet arthropathy is believed to be one of the most common causes of lower back pain.
Recreational exercise, whether performed in a group setting or alone, helps people with ankylosing spondylitis feel less stiff and in pain. Back exercise also helps these people function better, but the effects vary depending on how long the disease has been present.
Bertolotti's syndrome is a commonly missed cause of back pain which occurs due to lumbosacral transitional vertebrae (LSTV). These exercises were initially developed for men under 50 and women under 40 who had exaggerated lumbar lordosis, whose x-ray films showed decreased disc space between lumbar spine segments (L1-S1), and whose symptoms were chronic, but low grade. [citation needed]
There is also spondylosis of the facet joint between C2 and C3, with some foraminal stenosis at this level (upper arrow), which appears to be asymptomatic. Signs and Symptoms Radiculopathy is a diagnosis commonly made by physicians in primary care specialties, orthopedics , physiatry , and neurology .
