Tokyo Ghoul (Japanese: 東京喰種 （ トーキョーグール ）, Hepburn: Tōkyō Gūru) is a Japanese dark fantasy manga series written and illustrated by Sui Ishida. It was serialized in Shueisha 's seinen manga magazine Weekly Young Jump from September 2011 to September 2014, with its chapters collected in 14 tankōbon volumes.
Set two years after the ending of the original series, it follows the story of Haise Sasaki, Ken Kaneki's new identity, who is a member of the CCG and the leader of the Quinx Squad, a group of half-ghoul, half-human hybrids who use their ability to attack and defeat ghouls. Yutaka Yamada returns as the composer for the score.

Ken Kaneki is a young man who befriends the beautiful and enigmatic Rize Kamishiro, unaware that she is a ghoul. Rize reveals her intentions to eat Kaneki but by a stroke of luck Kaneki survives her attack but is mortally wounded. He is saved by an emergency operation, performed by Dr. Akihiro Kanou, transferring Rize's organs into himself.
