San Diego has a large Asian population and is extremely diverse overall. Anywhere in the Poway school district, or San Diego as a whole, is going to be fine. As others have said Poway itself can be a bit conservative but Carmel Mountain, Rancho Penasquitos, Rancho Bernardo, etc are all great areas.
