Hi, I need new drag slicks for my camaro. Previoulsy, I had bought a used set of 28x9x15 goodyear d3 slick. Now I need a new set. I check on jeg and summit and Goodyear tire are about 30$ more expesive than Hoosier or Mickey Thompson. Witch are the best choice? All us made tire or china? The...

  3. My 26" tall slicks make the 3.73's the equivalent of a 28.5" and 4.10's. So if I had 4.10 rear I would need a 28.5" tall slick to keep my car in the intended rpm range. However with a slightly more daily driven 3.73 the 26" slicks work better. With 3.42's you would still probably want to run a 26" tire as it is about as small as they get.

  4. At the moment I have my mind set on a new pair of MT drag slicks to address my infamous traction issue. I was thumbing through a magazine the other day and it it samed that most of the high-end racers were using Goodyear Eagles.

Who is running 15x8 rims with slicks? What size slick did you use and are you using a tube? I was looking at the Hoosier 29.0x10.5/15 or 29.0x11/15. They both say they will fit a 15x8 rim. Anyone using Hoosier slicks? Marv I know you have been. How many passes do you get on a set? [This...

A 16 year old who can't drive a stick will break any transmission grinding gears to no end. I used to hear the same thing about T5's back when I was running 120mph cars in the 1/4 mile with slicks. If you've got any used saginaws for $100 send 'em my way.-- Joe

  8. Poll on Eaton Posi vs Eaton Detroit TruTrac | NastyZ28.com

    nastyz28.com/threads/poll-on-eaton-posi-vs-eaton-detroit-trutrac.308984

I can't speak for the Detroit unit, but I've had an Eaton Posi in mine for several years now and it's held fine, no problems. On special occasions, it gets a set of slicks bolted up and makes a few passes down the track. The Eaton posi is not designed for regular drag strip use, but I've had no issues with the random water box hazings.

  9. BF Goodrich Radial TA vs Cooper Cobra Radial GT reviews

    nastyz28.com/threads/bf-goodrich-radial-ta-vs-cooper-cobra-radial-gt-reviews...

Here's mine. a picture I just took in the garage. I cleaned them the week before Thanksgiving. I'm happy with them, but I also was talking to people in the past year that have the Cooper Cobras and have the "Never been white, and can't get white letters "...that I had with the my previous set of Radial T/As.

  10. 5 or 6 Speed Power Ratings | Page 2 - NastyZ28.com

The second time was behind a 391 that made about 650 hp. It broke on drag radials on the street. Don't get me wrong, for a mid level hp street car, its ok. I don't hate the tranny by any means, but I know there is no way it will handle the power that I am making now. I had fun with it and dont regret buying it. I know it is not my driving or ...
