The ideal model of a transformer in LTspice has inductance. All practical transformers have inductance that can store energy so can be used in a flyback converter circuit. The name for the magnetics with more than one winding used in a flyback circuit is commonly called a flyback transformer.

- Return Path: In a flyback transformer, the return path for the high-voltage output is often connected through the core or through the circuit's ground that drives the primary winding. - Connection to the Circuit: The transformer’s high-voltage output should reference the circuit's common ground.
It can only can be test by using a flyback meter such as the Dick Smith Lopt tester flyback transformer pinoutor sencore LC102 and LC103C.Normal meters can't check this kind of fault. This is the most important winding compares to others and it can easily developed a short circuit when B+ voltage line or Horizontal output transistor (HOT) shorted.
Hello, I'm wondering if is it possible to simulate my flyback transformer in LtSpice, I'm a beginner in LtSpice, so I don't know how to write a correct code ... Here is the schema : So, I need to simulate the transformer who has 3 primary and 1 secondary... Regards, Chris
Hi everyone! I am currently testing a flyback transformer and zvs driver to drive a spark gap around 10-15kV for research purposes and would like to add a 20kV 1.0 uF Pulse Capacitor to the output for increased power and sharper discharges.. But am unsure of what connection layout would be the...

In flyback operation, a dc voltage is applied to the transformer primary, causing the current to rise based on the primary L di/dt, creating stored energy in the inductance. When the primary current is suddenly stopped (by a switch) the primary voltage will rapidly rise due to the inductance and the stored magnetic energy.
The best scan/EHT transformer to use is; the really old type that had external tripler. The modern diode-split type can be awkward to drive - particularly; you have to get the flyback polarity right. In normal use; they're 5th harmonic tuned and won't produce as much EHT unless you add tuning capacitance.
