San Miguel Food and Beverage (formerly San Miguel Pure Foods Company) is the largest food and beverage company in the Philippines. The company was incorporated in 1956 as Pure Foods Corporation, a manufacturer of processed meats marketed under the Purefoods brand name.
The following year, Pure Foods Corporation was renamed San Miguel Pure Foods Company, Inc. The franchise continued to play under the Purefoods banner until 2010. Beginning 2010, the franchise played under other brand names of the company – B-Meg (from 2010 to 2012), San Mig Coffee (from 2012 to 2014) and Star (from 2014 to 2017).
The Aurora Boulevard plant remained as its production facility until 2000 when it transferred to a new facility in General Trias, Cavite. In 1994, PDPC acquired the margarine brands Star Margarine and Dari Creme from Procter & Gamble Philippines (formerly the Philippine Manufacturing Company and Procter & Gamble PMC).
