Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202 is a public school district located in Illinois. There are four high schools, seven middle schools, seventeen elementary schools, one early learning center, and one alternative school in the district.
Originally consisting of a single school, Joliet Township High School (now known as Joliet Central High School), the district was expanded for the 1964–1965 school year with two new additional schools, Joliet East High School (closed in 1983, building now used for the Joliet Job Corps) and Joliet West High School (still in operation).

In 2009, almost 63% of the district's students were classified as low income, compared to 23.4% of Will County students overall. [2] The district feeds into Joliet Township High School District 204.
The second and third additions were completed as two consecutive projects, adding several additional classrooms, a new band room, cafeteria, conference room, dean's offices, and student commons area. The first phase broke ground on November 4, 2001 and was completed the following school year.

In 1917, Joliet Junior College received accreditation from the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Joliet Junior College's student newspaper, The Blazer, was first published in October 1929.
