Proverbs 9:10 says that "fear of the Lord" is "the beginning of wisdom". [10] The Hebrew words יִרְאַ֣ת (yir’aṯ) and פחד (p̄aḥaḏ) are most commonly used to describe fear of God/El/Yahweh.
