The London Borough of Ealing (/ ˈ iː l ɪ ŋ / ⓘ) is a London borough in London, England. It comprises the districts of Acton, Ealing, Greenford, Hanwell, Northolt, Perivale and Southall. [1] [2] With a population of 367,100 inhabitants, it is the third most populous London borough.

Peter Elijah Jonathan Mason (born Peter Robert Ness) is a British Labour politician and town planner [1] who, since May 2021, is the leader of Ealing London Borough Council. [2] He was first elected to Ealing Council in 2014.
The 2022 Ealing London Borough Council election took place on 5 May 2022, under new election boundaries, which increased the number of Ealing London Borough Council councillors to 70. The elections took place alongside local elections in the other London boroughs and elections to local authorities across the United Kingdom .

In 1952 there was a failed attempt to gain county borough status. [1] In 1965, under the London Government Act 1963, the municipal borough was abolished and its former area transferred to Greater London to be combined with the Municipal Borough of Acton and Municipal Borough of Southall to form the present-day London Borough of Ealing.
