We are considering the Gerber Avalanche. The reviews seem decent, and my mother (who's house it's for), likes the smaller footprint this toilet has compared to most (and the room behind it at the base). I was first looking at the 1.6 gpf ErgoHeight elongated one (model 21-818), but noticed there is a 1-piece model (21-014) that maybe looks ...
I installed a Gerber Avalanche round front toilet a couple months ago in a rental property. Unfortunately I have not gotten around to renting it so I have had plenty of opportunity to test it. I will start with saying I am a healthy 210lbs 6'2 male. The Avalanche flush is strong and does not require a second go around.
On a Toto, it turns in the porcelain almost pointing the waste vertically into the drain. Not positive of the shape on the Gerber, but on some of them, they try to make a right-angle turn right at the flange. Depends on the user, but for some people, that can cause a clog. The ID of most toilet's pathway is typically a bit over 2" in diameter.
Loosen the tank completely. There is a range of angles that the tank will seat on the flush valve washer. If you shift the bottom of the tank forward, the top will tilt back. Likewise if you shift the bottom of the tank back, the top will tilt forward. Whatever angle the tank starts at, it will tend to follow as the bolts are tightened.
Location. Virginia. Dec 18, 2012. #1. Gerber Viper toilets were recommended to us for a new home. Many times the waste doesn't completely go down or the toilet bowl does not wash out clean, needing to flush 2,3, even 4 times. The rep has done every check and says they are flushing correctly.
Gerber Avalanche Report I have an Avalanche that has been flawless so far, with about 1 year of use. It will flush an avalanche with no problems. Since I never used a Toto brand toilet, I can not supply a good comparison with a Toto, but this Gerber unit receives high marks from my family! I am going to buy another one for our second bathroom.
Sep 7, 2006. #2. I use A LOT of the new Gerber toilets . They really are VERY good! Don't have the specific "grams of crap" removed in each flush but I've been at this 26 years and haven't found a better 1.6gal flusher ! The Drakes are tried & true too. Go with the look you like ,,,, either toilet will be great.
1. Concealed trapway (semi- or "simple" rather than skirted). 2. Reliable performance. 3. Easy to find parts & repair. Wife doesn't like the look of the the Vespin II or other "boxy" skirted models. So...that leaves the Kohler Highline with the concealed trapway (K-76301) and the Avalanche Elite, and the TOTO Connelly ( too pricey for us).
New Gerber Avalanche toilet installed last week by plumbing company. Toilet is on 2nd floor. I noticed that the water level seemed to decrease. House is 34 years old. I performed the following: Flushed toilet and waited 10 minutes Marked the toilet bowl level with electrician tape Add red food...
It has a 3" flush valve from tank to bowl. Gerber 20-832: 21-832 bowl, 28-830 tank. Performance wise it should be fine. From the Gerber site, Features: • Two piece toilet with Concealed Trapway for superior look with easy installation and cleaning. • Elongated Bowl (18 1/2") for optimal comfort.
