Deer Creek Township is one of twenty-four townships in Bates County, Missouri, and is part of the Kansas City metropolitan area within the USA. As of the 2000 census, its population was 2,162. [1] The township was named for a nearby creek of the same name where deer were abundant. [2]

Deer Creek Township is a township in Henry County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. [ 1 ] Deer Creek Township was established in 1873, taking its name from Deer Creek .
The area consists of forests, glades, and savannas, two streams (the intermittent Camp Creek and the permanent Woods Fork) and offers 18 miles of trails, deer, squirrel, and turkey hunting, primitive campsites, and features a shooting range. [1] The area is named for Urban Busiek and his wife, Erma Marie Busiek.

A post office called Deer Park was established in 1886, and remained in operation until 1907. [2] The community was named for the abundance of deer in a nature reserve park near the original town site. [3] It is near the present day Three Creeks Conservation Area.
