Wolfgang-Ernst Ferdinand Heinrich Franz Karl Georg Wilhelm, VIII. [1] Prince of Ysenburg and Büdingen in Wächtersbach (born 20 June 1936 in Frankfurt am Main) is a German aristocrat. He is currently head of the House of Ysenburg and Büdingen. From 1992 to 2008 he was the president of the Automobilclub von Deutschland (AvD). [2]
Wolfgang was born at Castle Rumpenheim, Offenbach am Main, the second son of Prince Frederick Charles of Hesse (1868–1940) and Princess Margaret of Prussia (1872–1954). His maternal uncle was the German Emperor William II. In World War I, Wolfgang served as an officer in the command of Field Marshal August von Mackensen.
