The Western Australian Individual Speedway Championship is a Motorcycle speedway championship held annually in Western Australia to determine the WA State champion. The event is organised by the Speedway Motorcycle Club of WA and is sanctioned by Motorcycling Australia (MA). [1]
Warren Monson (4 March 1975 – 23 April 2023) was an Australian sidecar speedway rider. He won the FIM Speedway Sidecar World Cup, FIM Oceania Speedway Sidecar Championships and was nine times Victorian champion.
It is organised by Motorcycling Australia (MA) and is the oldest continuously running national speedway championship in the world, having been run since 1926 with the exception of 1942-1945 when racing was suspended during World War II and 1955-1961 when the championship was not held.

The 1982 Australian Individual Speedway Championship was held at the Claremont Speedway in Perth, Western Australia on 15 January 1982. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] Sydney rider Billy Sanders won his fourth successive Australian Championship and his third consecutive title.
The event was run as the Australian Under-18 Championship in 1986. This lasted just one year and was changed to the Under-21 Championship in 1987, to bring it in line with the Individual Speedway Junior World Championship which was also for Under-21s. [4] The inaugural Under-21 Championship in 1987 was held at the Undera Park Speedway in Victoria.
