Since we are WA state resident, UW tuition sounds very tempting. But it looks like Georgia Tech is a bit stronger in CS field.

    Georgia Tech has much fewer students in total, so 11% of GATech is much smaller than 9% of UMich. Moreover, Georgia Tech’s CS faculty is larger – CS being a separate college (At Michigan it is an EECS department).

    Rice seems more inviting and supportive. Tech tends to have that “we dare you to survive here” attitude at times. The freshman classes at Tech may be taught by TA’s or professors with hard-to-understand accents. There was a big cheating scandal at Tech a few years ago, so it is harder to work together on things at tech right now.
