Boonville was named for Daniel Boone. [ 4 ] [ 5 ] A post office has been in operation in Boonville since 1857. [ 6 ] The town was incorporated by the North Carolina legislature on February 19, 1895.
Boonville Township is one of twelve townships in Yadkin County, North Carolina, United States. The township had a population of 3,883, according to the 2000 census. Geographically, Boonville Township occupies 40.75 square miles (105.5 km 2) in northern Yadkin County. Boonville Township's northern border is the Yadkin River.
As of the census [4] of 2000, there were 1,109 people, 449 households, and 315 families residing in the town. The population density was 464.5 inhabitants per square mile (179.3/km 2).
