Elements incorporated into the logo such as the escutcheon (shield) are old or at least more than 70 years, as evidenced by photos dating back to at least March 1945 or as early as February 4, 1945 seen on the facade of the old San Miguel brewery, thus the logo is not protected by copyright laws of either the Philippines or the United States.
