Worsley (/ ˈ w ɜːr z l i /) is a village in the City of Salford, Greater Manchester, England, which in 2014 had a population of 10,090. [1] It lies along Worsley Brook, 6 miles (9.7 km) west of Manchester. Within the boundaries of the historic county of Lancashire, there is evidence of Roman and Anglo-Saxon activity, including two Roman roads.
Platt Hall by Thomas Lightoler, c. 1764, home of the Manchester Costume Museum 1947–2020 Platt Hall was the home of the Worsley family for 300 years. The current hall, a grade II* listed Georgian building, was built by John and Deborah Carill-Worsley to the designs of Carr of York, later moderated by Timothy Lightoler, in 1746 at a cost of £10,000.

Worsley New Hall is a former mansion and gardens by the Bridgewater Canal in Worsley, Greater Manchester, England, 8 miles (13 km) west of Manchester. [1] The gardens were renovated by the Royal Horticultural Society and opened as RHS Garden Bridgewater in 2021.
