Pikes Peak Greenway is a 16-mile (26 km) trail in Colorado Springs, Colorado that parallels Monument and Fountain Creeks and winds through and alongside parks, like Monument Valley Park, and sports complexes. It connects with other trails, such as the Midland Trail, Bear Creek Trail and Templeton Gap Trail.
13.8 miles (22.2 km) of developed trails for hiking and horse-back riding are found in the 784.9 acres (317.6 ha) open space. There is also a dog off-leash trail and picnic area. Parking is off of Ore Mill Road and 31st Street, including a horse trailer area, and the main parking area is off of Ridge Road and Highway 24. [21] Rockrimmon Open Space
Nature trails are for hiking, and pets are not allowed. Visitors can hike, walk their pets on a leash or ride horseback on the regional trails. Flora within the park includes ponderosa pine and cottonwood trees, scrub oak, grass prairie and meadows. A mountain creek runs through the park. [4] The trails are open from dawn to dusk each day. Inspiration Point, Colorado Springs. There are two hiking trails that begin at the top of Seven Falls. They are open from May through October until 7 p.m. The Inspiration Point trail is a 1-mile-long (1.6 km) winding trail to Inspiration Point and takes about one hour round trip. There are views of the city of Colorado Springs and the plains.
Funding was provided by Pikes Peak Community Foundation and Great Outdoors Colorado totaling $75,000 in addition to monies raised by McCloskey Motors. A tour of the open space, including the undamaged areas, was conducted by the City of Colorado Springs Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services on August 29, 2013, and the open space area was reopened.
