St. Monica Church in Cincinnati served as the cathedral from 1938 to 1957. Bishop Henry K. Moeller of Columbus was named coadjutor archbishop in Cincinnati by Pope Pius X in 1903. When Elder died in 1904, Moeller succeeded him as the fourth archbishop of Cincinnati. [26]
