    I noticed that the Taipei Times uses "Taiwan Compatriot Entry Permit" and no references to the document appears anywhere else. I think "Permit" is a better translation than "Pass". Longer names are used for the documents used by mainland residents and HK residents to enter Taiwan, but common names might be more appropriate.--
