Archer is a city in Alachua County, Florida, United States. It is part of the Gainesville, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area. As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 1,140, up from 1,118 at the 2010 census. The city is named after James T. Archer, the first Florida Secretary of State.
