Puerto Jiménez is the thirteenth canton of the Puntarenas province of Costa Rica. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] [ 3 ] It is located in the Osa Peninsula next to the Golfo Dulce and the Pacific Ocean , it is the main gateway to the Corcovado National Park .

As of 2014, Puerto Jiménez Airport is the third-busiest airport in Costa Rica by passenger traffic and the busiest domestic-only airport. These data show number of passengers movements into the airport, according to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation of Costa Rica's Statistical Yearbooks.

Jiménez has an area of 286.43 km² [4] and a mean elevation of 862 metres. [2]The Turrialba River forms the northern boundary of the canton of Jiménez, with the Reventazón River and Atirro River establishing the eastern border and the Pejibaye River delineating a major portion of the canton's border on the west.

In 1921, the company, which was incorporated and renamed "Jimenez & Fernandez, Sucrs, Inc.", bought a lot in the Fernández Juncos Ave. and built a two-story building. The company operated in the first floor and the Jiménez family lived in the second floor.
