Pinetop–Lakeside is a town in Navajo County, Arizona, United States. According to 2020 census, the population of the town is 4,557. [3] It was founded in 1984 when the neighboring towns of Pinetop and Lakeside merged. Pinetop–Lakeside is a popular summer resort and second-home area for Arizona desert residents.
As of the census [15] of 2019, there were 15,297 people living in Payson, AZ and is the 2,788th largest city in the United States. 5,832 households, and 4,070 families residing in the town. The population density was 791 people per square mile, which is 1275% higher than the Arizona average and 773% higher than the national average.
As of the 2010 census, there were 4,094 people living in the CDP: 2,078 male and 2,016 female. 1,185 were 19 years old or younger, 610 were ages 20–34, 744 were between the ages of 35 and 49, 907 were between 50 and 64, and the remaining 648 were aged 65 and above.
Nearby communities include Show Low, Pinetop-Lakeside, Greer, St. Johns, Springerville, Eagar, and McNary. Much of the range is within the Fort Apache Indian Reservation. The highest summit is Mount Baldy, with an elevation of 11,400 feet (3,475 m).
