Edward Kimball (July 29, 1823 – June 5, 1901) was an American Sunday School teacher known for converting 19th-century evangelist Dwight L. Moody to Christianity. Kimball also assisted churches across the United States in eliminating significant financial debts. [1] [2] He had assisted 21 churches in "liberating" debt by the age of 45.

In 1869, the brothers Alson E., Arthur Middleton, George W., and Warren Barnhart purchased the Great Western Type Foundry. [1] They subsequently incorporated as Barnhart Brothers & Spindler. It was a successful foundry known for innovative type design and well designed type catalogs.
Grandin was platted in 1910 on the site of the Missouri Lumber and Mining Company's company town which dates back to the late 1880s. [5] The community was named after E. B. Grandin, a businessperson in the local lumber industry. [5] A post office has been in operation at Grandin since 1887. [6]
