Carl J. Mayer (born April 23, 1959 in Brookline, Massachusetts) is an American lawyer, politician, author, public speaker and consumer advocate. He is the founder of the law firm Mayer Law Group LLC, as well as a former elected member of the Township Committee in Princeton, New Jersey .
Mayer was born into a middle-class family in Luxembourg City on June 19, 1926. [1] His father was a wholesaler who had studied at the University of Heidelberg and had strong social democratic and Zionist beliefs. Mayer described his family as "fully emancipated and largely acculturated Luxembourgian Jews". [2]
Carl Mayer (20 November 1894 – 1 July 1944) was an Austrian screenwriter who wrote or co-wrote the screenplays to The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1920), The Haunted Castle (1921), Der Letzte Mann (1924), Tartuffe (1926), Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans (1927), and 4 Devils (1928), most of them being films directed by F. W. Murnau.
Mayer was born in Königsberg.His father was a clarinetist who, soon after Charles's birth, moved to Saint Petersburg and four years later to Moscow.He received his early musical education from his mother, followed by extended studies with John Field (1782–1837), with whom he continued to study after the family returned to Saint Petersburg after the Moscow fire of 1812.
