Kunjali Marakkar School of Marine Engineering (KMSME) located in Cochin, Kerala, India, is the first marine engineering college in the state of Kerala. [1] Located in the Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) main campus, KMSME started its first batch of four-year B-Tech marine engineering programme in 2003 and opened its own campus in 2007. Established in 1979 for offering part-time M.Tech programmes. The school was the first in the country to introduce Information Technology as an engineering stream and is one among very few colleges in the country with a B. Tech course in Safety and Fire Engineering. The school is a Research Centre and major Consultancy Centre.
The Cochin University College of Engineering, Kuttanad was established in 1999 and is owned by the Cochin University of Science and Technology. It is situated in a 42-acre campus in Pulincunnoo, Kuttanad, about 75 km away from the main campus at Thrikkakara. It is the only campus of CUSAT that is outside the Ernakulam District.
It offers B.Tech programs in Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering and M.C.A.
The Common University Entrance Test (CUET), formerly Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET) is a standardised test in India conducted by the National Testing Agency at various levels—CUET (UG), [1] CUET (PG), [2] and CUET (PhD), [3] for admission to undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctorate programmes in Central Universities and other participating institutes. On an average, students in India need to complete 180-185 credits after their four-year engineering course to be awarded the degree B.Tech/B.E. and a one-semester-long thesis project. [ 9 ] A new CBCS (Choice Based Credit System) scoring system was devised by UGC for undergraduate students from the academic year 2016–17. [ 10 ]

The American firm Prometric was entrusted with the responsibility of conducting the test from 2009 to 2013. [ 4 ]
