Almaany is one of the most recently developed Arabic dictionaries and is continually updated. Its Arabic service amalgamates entries from dictionaries including Lisan al-Arab compiled by Ibn Manzur in 1290, al-Qāmūs al-Muḥīṭ by Firuzabadi in the 15th century, and ar-Rāʾid published by Jibran Masud in 1964. The Arabic spoken in Indonesia is generally used by people of Arabs descent and Islamic students (santri), primarily based on Hadhrami Arabic brought by Arab traders from Hadramaut, Yemen. Al-Mu'jam al-Kabir (Arabic: المُعجَم الْكَبِير, romanized: Al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr) is a hadith collection compiled by al-Tabarani. It is part of his hadith book series by name of Mu'ajim Al-Tabarani. The other two books of the series are al-Mu'jam al-Awsat & al-Mu'jam as-Saghir. [1] [2]

The official number of Arab and part-Arab descent in Indonesia was recorded since 19th century. The census of 1870 recorded a total of 12,412 Arab Indonesians (7,495 living in Java and Madura and the rest in other islands). By 1900, the total number of Arabs citizens increased to 27,399, then 44,902 by 1920, and 71,335 by 1930. [5]
