Unfortunately YTS only started to use 5.1 in 1080p recently, so older releases use stereo AAC at 128 kbps, which even then are better than the old YIFY rips. So I hope this information is somewhat useful and certain people understand that YTS is an actually acceptable choice for what they offer if people want to consume these rips.
YIFY Torrents or YTS was a peer-to-peer release group known for distributing large numbers of movies as free downloads through BitTorrent (see copyright infringement). YIFY releases were characterised through their small file size, which attracted many downloaders.
look man, objectively low bitrate movies sound and look bad. YIFY became popular because they're small downloads which is good if you have low storage space, slow internet or limited internet.
The best way to look for torrents is to setup Jackett. All you have to do i download it, and then click "add indxer", and basically just sort by public, and check everything. You will most likely find what you need.
One unavoidable fact is the YTS movie has 50 GB less data in it than the original which must mean lower quality which cannot be disputed. A number of old timers claim they perceive no quality degradation, I would suggest that is because they are old and their senses are just not what they used to be.
But enough of a difference to notice and develop a preference. Picture is still noisy, but sound is a lot better than YTS. All the folks doing ~5gb 10bit x265 releases are my sweet spot these days, small enough to still fit a couple thousand movies on a drive, and not remux quality, but look better than Netflix at least on a 50" 4k TV.
No. Magnet links are like urls for your torrent client. It's basically the raw torrent info that's plugged directly into your client. The only way a virus can get to you is if the torrent itself has a virus in it (as would be the case for any torrent). YTS.mx, like with other yts clones, just give you mp4s which afaik don't/can't have viruses.
Yts.mx is the correct URL. I love how this site has such a large collection of films available (over 35,000) and that there's an API. I managed to download the .torrent files for the best quality version of each film and bulk download them all on my NAS Server. That's over 35,000 movies; mostly 1080p; which occupies roughly 60TB of disc space.
Is yts.mx the best movie torrent website ? They always have the highest seed but people say they have bad quality but I think it's pretty good. I am trying to download better bit rate movie torrents from 1337x.to but the old torrents have really low seeds and the download is extremely slow. Is there any other way or do I keep using yts ?
r/torrents fam, I'm mulling over the safety of streaming movie torrents via an external HDD connected to my router. Specifically, I want to watch these flicks on my Apple TV and other Apple gadgets, like the MacBook Pro, iPad, and iPhone (as a lot of my personal stuff in there).
