It weighs about 21 lbs, and is pretty fast. The middle chain ring was weak and had to be replaced, but other than that no problems. K2 is one of those mass-produced Taiwanese bikes like most other Treks, Giants, etc. out there. 30 lbs is on the heavy side, and you shouldn't need front shocks for commuting. Reply.
I've been riding the Apache 6.0 for a year-it's a great bike-and pretty high-end in terms of performance and part spec-the proprietary suspension design is excellent (and unfortunately discontinued), the K2 reps have a good presence on this forum and have been very, very open and accessible and K2 is great with their warranties (in my experience).
