The Nissan QD engine, successor to the Nissan TD engine, was an inline four-cylinder overhead valve diesel produced from the mid-1990s through 2000, with a turbocharger used on three variants, the QD32ETi(Elgrand and Terrano) QD32T and Qd32Ti(intercooled) in Chinese Markets (Nissan Cabstar) . It was replaced by the Nissan ZD engine.
Nissan's internal designation for this model was R20. It was exported to Japan, where it was called the Mistral, and exclusive to Japanese Nissan dealership network called Nissan Satio Store . The Terrano II/Mistral's body was designed by the Italian I.DE.A Institute .
The first generation Nissan Pathfinder also sold in Indonesia from 1995 to 2006 as Nissan Terrano. Only available with four-door body, 2389 cc Z24 carburetted petrol engine (103 hp & 182Nm), 2WD (4WD only available for 1995-1996 highest trim model [4]) and 5-speed manual transmission. Nissan rates this engine to receive an EPA fuel economy rating of 31 miles per US gallon (13.2 km/L; 7.6 L/100 km) city and 36 miles per US gallon (15.3 km/L; 6.5 L/100 km) highway. The Chinese and Taiwanese version uses Nissan's HR15DE 1.5 L four-cylinder petrol engine.
