I've never had any issues with propiconazloe on zoysia. There is actually a high zoysia rate of 4oz/1000. I know that bermuda is sensitive and there are special instructions on the label for bermuda. Armada is a group 3 and a group 11 just like headway, so propiconazole and azoxy are not going to be a true rotation.
That makes sense to me because if you have a 1.5" dip and the grass was 1" it would be drowned out by .5". The only problem I see is how much harder it will be to get the sand down in there good and deep with long zoysia.
From my perspective, the color of the zoysia and the width of the blades of grass are virtually the same however you can tell that the density of the Empire Zoysia appears thicker than the centipede. My concern with mixing the grasses may boil down to the timing of when the grasses enter and exit from their dormant state.
For the established zoysia in your lawn, 2-3 applications of Glyphosate mixed at 4% concentration every 2 weeks will kill it (and most everything else) when it is actively growing during the summer. Once you have the established zoysia killed off, your best option is a weed control barrier at the property line - I would recommend at least 6 ...
True. Atrazine applied at the label rate to Zoysia and not overdosed is safe on Zoysia. The products marketed to pro applicators have instructions for application to Zoysia.
I have mostly zoysia backyard Long island NY it's dormant about 8 months out of the year . I'm all organic back there drop what ever cheap organic fertilizer twice in the summer no irrigation just water once in a while if needed. It's really idiot proof I just cut as needed. The 7 to 8 months a year it's dormant I can't stomach it a real eye sore.
Spammage responded saying this is Zoysia: "it's zoysia - a japonica cultivar, probably either Empire or El Toro" and referenced using a combination of Sencor and Tenacity as recommended by Greendoc. I've been searching the forums for the past couple days and found some good info: Tenacity+TRI-Cor. 2-3 applications 14-21 days apart. It will ...
The general guidance is you can Topdress when the grass is actively growing. But Leveling only when the grass is vigorously growing. In Atlanta I would say this is late May to mid June. This allows for recovery before the mid July - August heat stress that we get. I prefer a 3/4" HOC, longer and the grass starts to look lumpy and irregular.
I tried searching for information on zoysia grass using the search function but couldn’t find anything relating to my issue. Please excuse me if this has been covered before! My wife and I purchased our first home towards the end of summer last year. We live in Orange County, CA. Our front yard looks to be in dire need of help.
We have had alot of rain in South Carolina this year and recently some of my Zoysia grass has developed black areas. I have cut the water as much as I can, and have aerated and sanded. My hoc is 1 inch with a greens mower.
