State Route 261 (SR 261) is an east–west state highway located in northeastern Ohio that passes through Medina, Summit, and Portage counties. At a length of 26 miles (42 km), SR 261 runs from a signalized intersection with SR 94 in Wadsworth to a signalized T-intersection with SR 59 in Franklin Township just east of Kent.

Prior to the construction of the SR 2/Ohio Turnpike connector around 1976, I-90 traffic had to use SR 57 to access the Turnpike. In 2003 the loop from SR 57 southbound to I-90/SR 2 eastbound in this interchange was removed and replaced by a left turn to simplify traffic movements on SR 57, and the opposite loop had been removed by 2004 to make it a six-ramp partial cloverleaf interchange.
SR 94 south of Wadsworth. 1924: State Route 94 was formed. It originally ran from Riceland, a village south of Orrville, to what was then State Route 36 [2] (now State Route 585) north of Orrville. 1926: Extended north to Cleveland and its current northern terminus along a formerly unnumbered road.
