EliteHockey Ligaen (EHL) is the premier Norwegian ice hockey league, organised by the Norwegian Ice Hockey Association. [1] It comprises 10 clubs and works on the premise of promotion and relegation, in which the two teams who placed last must play the top two teams from First Division (the league ranked immediately below) for the rights to play in the next Eliteserie season.
A total of 20 teams from 40 of the 42 EHF member associations are set to participate in the 2024–25 Men's Euro Hockey League (the exceptions being Belarus and Russia which are currently suspended). The Eastern Junior Hockey League (EJHL) was a USA Hockey-sanctioned Tier III junior ice hockey league. Founded in 1993 by Dan Esdale, [1] [2] the EJHL had fourteen teams from across the Northeastern United States.
For the 2022 Euro Hockey League, the associations are allocated places according to their 2020 EHL country coefficients, which takes into account their performance in European competitions from 2018–19 to 2020–21. [5]
For the 2022–23 Euro Hockey League, the associations were allocated places according to their 2021–22 EHL country coefficients, which takes into account their performance in European competitions from 2019–20 to 2021–22. [4]
In the 1999–2000 season, 16 teams competed in four divisions. The two best clubs in each division advanced to the semi-final round, which was played as two-game, home-and-away series. The four winners of the semi-finals qualified for the EHL Top Four Final.
The Euro Hockey League is an annual men's field hockey cup competition organized by the EHF for the very top field hockey clubs in Europe.The competition was launched at the start of the 2007-08 field hockey season when it merged and replaced the men's EuroHockey Club Champions Cup (the champions competition) and the EuroHockey Cup Winners Cup (the Cup Winners' competition).
