The band's logo. Farmer Boys is a German metal band from Stuttgart.They reached their peak of popularity with their album The World Is Ours, released in 2000; the videos for singles "Here Comes the Pain" and "If You Ever Leave Me Standing" were put into heavy rotation by German alternative music channels such as VIVA Zwei.

The band formed in early 1969 and, with their new/experimental sound, they secured a considerable German fan base. Gila's original lineup was Daniel Alluno (drums, bongos, tabla, percussion), Fritz Scheyhing (organ, mellotron, percussion, keyboards), Conny Veit (guitars, vocals, tabla, additional keyboards) and Walter Wiederkehr (bass).
The band members met in Rockfabrik, a club in the wider area of Stuttgart, Germany, that covered all rock and metal styles. The owners gave the yet young grindcore and death metal scene a place, similar to children's disco on Sunday afternoon 3 pm to 9 pm. At that time innumerable bands of the genre were found there, some of them became pretty big.
Gurrath was formerly a philosophy teacher at a Stuttgart high school until his role in Debauchery was discovered in May 2010. He was given the choice between keeping his teaching job or his band, and chose the latter.
At the beginning of the 2000s he formed a new band and currently plays live concerts with his band, touring Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Since 2018, Tessloff Verlag has published the children's book series Der kleine Major Tom in cooperation with the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and Bernd Flessner, as well as illustrations by Stefan Lohr.
