Beaumont-du-Périgord (French pronunciation: [bomɔ̃ dy peʁiɡɔʁ], lit. ' Beaumont of the Périgord ' , before 2001: Beaumont ; Occitan : Bèlmont ) [ 2 ] is a former commune in the Dordogne department in Nouvelle-Aquitaine in southwestern France , on 1 January 2016, it was merged into the new commune Beaumontois-en-Périgord .
' Beaumontois in Périgord '; Occitan: Bèlmontés de Perigòrd) is a commune in the Dordogne department of southwestern France. The municipality was established on 1 January 2016 and consists of the former communes of Beaumont-du-Périgord, Labouquerie, Nojals-et-Clotte and Sainte-Sabine-Born. [3]
In 2002, he succeeded Xavier Darcos in the Senate, representing Dordogne. [2] In March 2008, he was elected mayor of Beaumont-du-Périgord. [3] He was Vice-President of the Communauté de communes du Pays beaumontois from 2008 to 2012. He was defeated in the 2008 French Senate election by Claude Bérit-Débat of the Socialist Party.
