LeTourneau University (/ l ə t ˈ ər n oʊ /; abbreviated LETU) is a private, interdenominational evangelical Christian university in Longview, Texas.Founded as LeTourneau Technical Institute in February 1946 by R. G. LeTourneau with his wife, Evelyn, the school initially educated veterans returning from World War II.
Upon approval by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board to offer bachelor's degree programs in July 2010, the school applied to change its name to North American College (NAC). During the 2010–11 academic year the college moved into its new administrative and educational building located at 3203 N. Sam Houston Pkwy West in Houston, Texas.
There are 226 colleges and universities in the State of Texas that are listed under the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education.These institutions include thirty-four research universities, twenty-nine master's universities, ninety-two undergraduate schools, and seventy-one special-focus institutions.

The Austin Community College District (ACC) is a public community college system serving the Austin, Texas, metropolitan area and surrounding Central Texas communities. The college maintains numerous campuses, centers, and distance learning options to serve about 100,000 students in academic, continuing education and adult education programs.
UATX is not accredited, [8] and its students are not eligible for Federal Student Aid. It is approved to grant bachelor’s degrees by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. [9] The first two classes have been offered full-tuition scholarships. [10] [11]

On June 19, 1999, Texas Senate Bill 1288, authored by Judith Zaffirini and sponsored by Henry Cuellar, was passed during the 76th Texas Legislature which established the University of Texas(UT) Health San Antonio Laredo Regional Campus from the existing Mid Rio Grande Border Area Health Education Center(MRGB-AHEC).
