U.S. Route 19 or U.S. Highway 19 (US 19) is a north–south United States Numbered Highway in the Eastern United States. Despite encroaching Interstate Highways , the route has remained a long-haul road, connecting the Gulf of Mexico with Lake Erie .

Also referred to as the Paterson Peripheral , it runs 3.04 mi (4.89 km) from an intersection with County Route 509 (CR 509, Broad Street) and CR 609 (Colfax Avenue) in Clifton north to another intersection with CR 509 (Main Street) in downtown Paterson .

The route was signed in 1946 as a bypass route for trucks that were not allowed on US 19. In 1948, the southern terminus was moved from Banksville Road to its current location. In 1989, US 19 Truck's designation was moved to I-279 to form a complete US 19 Truck from Mt. Lebanon to Wexford after the parkway north was completed.
In 2016, a diverging diamond interchange was built at the intersection of US 19 and I-70/I-79 in South Strabane Township. [2] PennDOT started construction on a multilane roundabout at the intersection of US 19, US 6, US 322, and PA 98 in Vernon Township, near Meadville. Construction was expected to be completed in October 2019. [3]
