i found a way that worked for me by downloading uxm selective unpack and unpacking the game then patching it using the same app then putting the mod engine 2 files in the same file as eldenring.exe (also i did change the location of the game to (steamapps\common\ELDEN RING\Game but i dont know if that helped)
It is just another (new) app similar to wemod and flingtrainer but completely free. I much prefer using cheat engine though for quick resource editing or 4 byte search for most things but yeah it has been a handy app when cheat engine tables aren't available. Completely safe. 1. kemikazi33.
Seems like you've got it working, but afaik Elden Mod Loader just loads .dll mods from /elden ring/game/mods/, and modengine2 loads replacement game files from /modengine2/mod/. Instructions. You should probably reset the .toml file to default, tho. The actual issue you have could be related to antivirus or some other security preventing bat files from operating correctly.
