Teays Valley was officially established in 1963 when Ashville-Harrison, Walnut Township, and Scioto Township High Schools combined. At that time, the student population was just 1,650. They named the school "Teays Valley" after the ancient Teays River that ran under present day Pickaway County. The school district is the largest in Pickaway County.
The PVC originally formed in 1964 as the Frontier Valley Conference, then became the Mid-Ohio Valley Conference in 1966 to avoid confusion with the newly consolidated Frontier Local School District. The conference settled on its current moniker in 1976 before dissolving in 2019.
Because of rising costs and limited interest, many have been discontinued: From 1995 to 2013, the number of U.S. college yearbooks dropped from roughly 2,400 to 1,000. [1] This is a partial list of those yearbooks that have been made available for digital search and download via their school libraries or archives.
Teays Valley is in the northern part of the county. Teays Valley High School is a public high school located at 3887 State Route 752 in Ashville, Ohio. It is the only high school in the Teays Valley Local School District. The school mascot is the Viking. The mission of Teays Valley High School is for all students to graduate and be prepared for college and career. [2]

Brooks-Yates was a school operated by Pickaway County Board of Developmental Disabilities that provided services to Pickaway County students with developmental disabilities. The school was moved to Teays Valley's main campus in Ashville from Circleville in 2016. [35] The school ultimately closed in 2021, following a decline in enrollment. [36]
