Kikhpinych (Russian: Кихпиныч) is a stratovolcano located in the eastern part of the Kamchatka Peninsula, [1] which feeds the famous Valley of Geysers.. At its foot is a 2-by-0.5-km (1.2-by-0.3-mi) area known as the "Valley of Death", where volcanic gases accumulate and kill birds and mammals that enter the valley.
His major work was the book Caput bonae spei hodiernum (1719) in which he provided detailed descriptions of Khoikhoi life which differed significantly in perception from the descriptions of earlier travellers. He compared European culture and beliefs with those of the Khoikhoi. An English translation, by Guido Medley, was published in 1731. [1]

Hendrik Witbooi (c.1830 – 29 October 1905) [1] was a chief of the ǀKhowesin people, a sub-tribe of the Khoikhoi. He led the Nama people during their revolts against the German colonial empire in present-day Namibia, in connection with the events surrounding the Herero and Namaqua Genocide. He was killed in action on 29 October 1905.
