Newcastle Civic Centre, Haymarket. Haymarket is the northern edge of the city centre bordered by Spital Tongues and Jesmond to the north west and north east respectively. The plinth now stands at the centre of a small outside seating area at the rear (or western) end of the site. On 10 June 2021 it was announced that HMRC would be vacating the site in favour of a new, purpose built site in Newcastle City Centre. [2] The relocation is expected to take place by 2027, on completion of the new site. [3]
