Toshiyuki Kita (喜多 俊之) is a furniture and product designer. He was born in 1942, in Osaka , Japan . [ 1 ] In 2004 he was inaugurated as a professor at the Osaka University of Arts.
The Wakamaru was designed by Toshiyuki Kita. He wanted to create "a humanoid robot that can approach its user" so that the Wakamaru could be seen as an independent personality rather than a machine.
