Pearl Abyss Corp. (Korean: 주식회사 펄어비스) is a South Korean video game developer and publisher, known for creating the cross-platform MMORPG Black Desert Online and the upcoming open world action adventure Crimson Desert.
In 2018, Pearl Abyss began work on a prequel to the timeline of Black Desert, titled Crimson Desert, but during development it became a separate, stand alone IP with a different storyline and new characters. [4] In 2021, Kakao Games stopped services and Pearl Abyss took back the publishing rights.
