The Toyota TZ engine is a series of water-cooled inline four-cylinder gasoline engines from Toyota Motor Corporation. The engines feature dual overhead camshafts (DOHC) and 4 valves per cylinder. The supercharged 2TZ-FZE features an intercooler. The TZ supplanted the Toyota Y engine in the Toyota Estima/Previa when it replaced the Toyota Van.
The Toyota P engine family is an overhead valve inline-four engine produced from October 1959 through 1994. Originally fitted to the Corona passenger car, it was soon relegated to commercial use vehicles and for its latter two decades it mostly powered various forklifts.
Toyota sought to enhance the drivability pattern of the engine (over the 3VZ) at exactly 3000 rpm, since that was the typical engine speed for motors cruising on the highway. The result was less cylinder distortion coupled with the decreased weight of rotating assemblies, smoother operation at that engine speed, and increased engine efficiency.
The Toyota Progrès (pronounced "Prog-Ray") is a mid-size luxury sedan which was sold in Japan from May 1998 to June 2007, replacing the Toyota Corona EXiV. The Progrès included 2.5 L or 3.0 L JZ inline 6-cylinder engines with VVT-i .
