In 2007, Midnight joined forces with a new group of musicians including Matt LaPorte who also played with the ex-Savatage frontman's band Jon Oliva's Pain, and Lee Harrison, the drummer and founder of the death metal band Monstrosity who also previously toured with Obituary and is currently with Terrorizer, as well.
The band was formed as a result of Lyle and McEwan meeting during a co-writing workshop in 2012 in North Hollywood, CA. [2] [3] Inspired in part by the score for Drive, and the retro synth genre growing around its release, [3] the pair wrote two singles, "WeMoveForward" and "Gloria", that would be released two years later in 2014 as part of their debut EP titled Days of Thunder.

They used them on stage, as well as for all photo shoots and public appearances. [8] Vocalist Midnight was the exception to this, as his mask left his mouth uncovered.

The band was started by Benjamin brothers Vaughn (vocals) and Ron (keyboard, but later switched to bass) circa 1989 according to an interview with one of the former Midnite drummer Ambrose "Amby" Connor by Midnight Raver.
