Regarding glueing polystyrene: you're also screwed there with any cyanoacrylate glue. There isn't, as far as I can think of, any solvent which will dissolve cyanoacrylate and not polystyrene. If you're trying to glue polystyrene to anything (either another piece of polystyrene, or another substance) you need a special polystyrene glue.
