Hold That Ghost is a 1941 American horror comedy film directed by Arthur Lubin and starring the comedy team of Abbott and Costello and featuring Joan Davis, Evelyn Ankers and Richard Carlson. It was produced and distributed by Universal Pictures .
Two of their films (Hold That Ghost and Buck Privates) were adapted for radio that year. Hold That Ghost was presented as a half-hour adaptation on August 1, 1941 on Louella Parsons' Hollywood Premiere, [7] and Buck Privates was presented on Lux Radio Theatre as a one-hour adaptation on October 13, 1941. [8]
A sequel to this movie, Buck Privates Come Home, was released in 1947. Buck Privates is one of three Abbott and Costello films featuring The Andrews Sisters, who were also under contract to Universal Pictures at the time. Abbott and Costello performed a one-hour radio adaptation of the film on the Lux Radio Theatre on October 13, 1941. [3]
