On 24 May 1998, White went to First Assembly of God Church in Danville Illinois. There he went to the west side of the church and placed a pipe bomb on top of an air conditioning and heating unit next to an exterior support pillar. In the church, over 300 people were attending mass when the bomb detonated near the youth section.
