Rich Township is one of 29 townships in Cook County, Illinois, United States located south of Chicago. As of the 2020 census , its population was 76,138. [ 1 ] Richton Park serves as the governmental seat for the township.
Parts of the city west of Cicero Ave, and North of 183rd St/I-80 attends Tinley Park High School, also in Bremen Community High School District 228. The southern half of the city (South of 183rd St) attends Rich Central High School, which is in Rich Township School District 227.
Those schools included; Bloom, Crete-Monee, Kankakee, Rich Central, Rich East and Rich South. In 2019-20, Thornridge, Thornton, and Thornwood left the Southwest Suburban Conference to join the Southland Conference. In 2020, Rich East High School closes while Rich South and Rich Central consolidate into Rich Township High School
