The Morondava is a river in the Menabe region, located in western Madagascar. It originates on the Makay Massif and flows northwestwards into the Indian Ocean [ 1 ] near a town named after the river .
Betsiboka River is a 525-kilometre (326 mi) long river in central-north Madagascar. It flows northwestward and empties to Bombetoka Bay, forming a large delta. It originates to the east of Antananarivo. The river is surrounded in mangroves. [3] The river is distinctive for its red-coloured water, which is caused by river sediments.
The Mahavavy Sud, also known as the Mahavavy South, is a river in western Madagascar. It flows from south to north through the regions of Melaky , Betsiboka , Bongolava and Boeny . It has a length of approximately 410 km (250 mi), and drains a basin of 16,475 km 2 (6,361 sq mi).
The Bemarivo River (/be.mari.v/), literally the big shallow, is located in northern Madagascar. It drains to the north-eastern coast, into the Indian Ocean. It drains the eastern part of the Tsaratanana Massif and the northern half of the Marojejy Massif. It is crossed by the RN 5a near Nosiarina. Its mouth is situated 17 km [2] north of Sambava.
The Sofia is a river of northwestern Madagascar. It flows through the Sofia Region. The source is at the Tsaratanana Massif at an altitude of 1784 metres. [2] It has a length of 328 kilometres (204 mi). [3] Its mouth is in the Indian Ocean in the Boriziny-Vaovao District (Port-Bergé).
The Maharivo is a river in Menabe region of western Madagascar.It originates on the Makay Massif and flows westwards into the Indian Ocean.It is approximately 165 km long from source to sea, and drains a basin of 4,700 km 2 The climate of the region is semi-arid to arid, and the upper reaches of the river are often dry for part of the year.
